Health Equity in America
As a young professional who is adopted and mixed race ( White Irish European / Black African American ), I understand the importance of diversity in the modern healthcare system.
It is important to support people of unique ethnic minority, which includes those who are mixed race, to make sure that America does not revert to eugenic values that believe in keeping races separated/segregated.
It is easier to withhold vital healthcare services from a group of people when they're segregated by race and not allowed to mix/inter-mingle with other families in the same country/community that they live in.
I hope that people who visit this website
learn more about other cultures that have communities in America and can get excited about supporting nutrition programs that
help all American families.

About Me
Thank You for taking a second to get to know me!

I have just passed my national registration exam to earn my RDN credentials in Yakima WA Winter of 2025. I graduated from a rigorous 9 month dietetic internship program with Sea Mar Health Clinics in Seattle WA Summer of 2024. Sea Mar's dietetic internship stretches the whole Puget Sound area with specialized rotations in community nutrition,
clinical nutrition, nutrition support, inpatient MNT,
outpatient MNT, WIC, hospital foodservice,
& Long-term Care. My career enhancement was in clinical nutrition support in Seattle WA
with Providence Infusions & Pharmacy Services
at UW Hospital and other group home facilities.

Work Experience at the Sea Mar Dietetic Internship Program
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Personalized Nutrition Support / Counseling
My supervised practice in my dietetic internship
was heavily focused in Medical Nutrition Therapy:
Outpatient, Inpatient, & Clinical Nutrition Support
featuring Home Nutrition Support Services.
I am building my dietetic career as a RDN that
specializes in MNT. I am very interested in ADIME
Initial Nutrition Assessment medical charting, Updating/Creating Care Plans for Nutrition Interventions,
Enteral Nutrition Therapy nutrient needs calculations
( goal regimen / fluid flush protocol based on free water calculations / interventions for feed intolerance ), & Malnutrition Diagnosis in Inpatient Care facilities.

Clinical MNT / Home Nutrition Support
During My internship, I spent 3 weeks at Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services. My time with the company served as my career enhancement; I became very intrigued with Nutrition Support. I got to practice teaching a patient how to perform a water flush and gravity bag feed through their PEG tube. For this same patient, I also wrote the Nutrition Assessment,
Calculated Enteral Needs / Can Regimen,
& Conducted Home Visit via telehealth
before the patient had the PEG placed
at UW hospital Seattle WA.

Sea Mar
Outpatient Nutrition Education
During my Outpatient Rotation with Sea Mar I fell in love with Nutritional Counseling. I have always had an interest in nutrition education. This rotation gave me
the opportunity to learn as my preceptor advised me through the supervised practice. I was very proud of
the Outpatient Case Study that I completed
during my rotation. I have learned how to:
- build rapport with patients

- assess which interventions would be most useful

- perform diet recalls that allow me to
successfully analyze patient/clint intake/output

- analyze personal Hx to make evidenced based decisions about personalized nutrition recommendations

- deflect common misunderstandings
that can occur with human communication
Community
Nutrition Education
Volunteer Work / Non-Profit Worker / Aid Worker
In the Sea Mar dietetic Internship, the interns have many different opportunities to work in community nutrition education. The Sea Mar internship has a Community Nutrition Rotation that is a collaboration with a nonprofit called Tilth Alliance. Besides this specific rotation interns have the ability to experience hosting a radio show & working with migrant farm workers. All of these experiences has continued to grow my passion for public health.

Below are some of my future goals as an RDN; I will continue to participant in the AND (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) activities, participate in dietetic advocacy on social media, & foster nutrition entrepreneurship
