  • Occupational Hazards

  • High Blood Sugar

  • Eating Inflammatory Meals / Snacks

  • Food Insecurity

Providing a Plant Stanol/Sterol that Helps Decrease Dietary Absorption of Cholesterol

High Priority Post: A general idea I have for the utilization of donation funds from The Dietetic Wellness Project within the next 3 years is to purchase a bulk supply of a plant stanol / sterol supplement that is an evidenced based Nutrition Intervention to help lower / manage cholesterol levels caused by eating diets high in cholesterol. for patients with a genetic history of familial hypercholesterolemia, I will be educating them that this supplement does not replace the importance of a Statin (or other medication) to lower cholesterol because it will not help decrease the cholesterol that is produced naturally by the human body.

Welcome to the Patient Donations group! I will be updating this part of the forum to inform you of my ideas for projects for my patient population in Eastern WA. Some ideas will have specific details than other general ideas. Before any money is spent on a project idea, as a professional RDN, I will conduct a community needs assessment to determine what the most evidence based product would be to purchase for my patient population using donated funds.
